Walter Holyk

1921--2004
Geologist. Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide deposits (VMS again) techniques.
His theories proved in field found big deposits.

Born in BC. Went to UBC. PhD. WWII. RCAF. (Acronymic)

1950. joined Texas Gulf Sulphur as geologist.
Started exploration at NB.
Began in Bathurst.
Half Mile Lake deposit in NB.
Staked claimes. Found a zinc-lead deposit.

Read GSC report on Baffin Island: so they took it north.
Went up and found what is now Nanisivik zinc lead mine.

Kidd Creek deposit. Another one in Canadian Shield.
Ontario.
